“Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” – Simon Sinek
The Investiture Ceremony is a significant occasion where a college entrusts its future leaders with essential roles and responsibilities. Delegating responsibility and authority to students is crucial as it instills in them the lifelong skills of being both powerful and compassionate.
The Student Union Investiture Ceremony was held in a grand manner on 3rd July 2024 in our College Auditorium. The ceremony began with a solemn prayer service by the college choir, followed by an inspiring invocation dance. We were honored to have Dr. Senthil Kumar, Scientist Associate for Chandrayaan II, as our Chief Guest. Dr. Logeshwaran, Director of Siddha Green Loge, and Rev. Sr. Kamala Sharia, Superior General of SAB, graced the event as Guests of Honour. Mrs. Mary Roopashree, Lecturer in English, formally welcomed the gathering, leading into the traditional lamp lighting ceremony.
Ms. Azra Khanum of II BASc was elected as the Union President and Ms. Yuktha Nagaveni of II HEPS as the General Secretary of the student council. Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Sophie George administered the pledge to the newly elected Student Union Members. The Presidents, General Secretaries of various clubs, and the Class Prefects took the oath, promising to carry out their duties with integrity, faith, and excellence. During the swearing-in ceremony, the student council members were honored with badges for their respective posts.
Various club activities planned for the academic year 2024-2025 were presented through an engaging PowerPoint presentation. The College Choir captivated the audience with their vibrant voices, and the students of II PCMC set the stage ablaze with their enthralling performance. Ms. Yuktha Nagaveni, the General Secretary of the Student Union, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring event.
