On 15th August 2024, St. Anne’s Group of Institutions, including Marian Primary School, St. Mary’s High School, St. Anne’s Public School, St. Anne’s Pre-University College, and St. Anne’s Degree College, came together to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of India with immense enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Rev. Sister Kamala Scaria, Superior General of St. Anne Bangalore, and the Guest of Honour, Rev. Sister Arul Mary, Education Coordinator.
The day began with a warm welcome for the esteemed guests, led by a ceremonial band from St. Anne’s Public School. Following this, a beautiful invocation dance was performed by the students of St. Anne’s PU College, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the day.
At 8:00 AM, the Chief Guest hoisted the National Flag, a moment of pride for all present. The staff members and students stood in unison, saluting the flag as a mark of respect and gratitude towards the freedom fighters who sacrificed for the country’s independence.
The celebrations continued with a series of performances that highlighted the spirit of the day. St. Mary’s Girls High School presented a stirring patriotic song, followed by a dance performance by Marian Primary School. A PU College student delivered an inspiring English speech on the significance of Independence Day, followed by Kannada and Hindi speeches from other PU students, reflecting the diverse linguistic heritage of the country.
The students of St. Mary’s Girls High School added a colorful touch to the event with a fancy dress presentation, showcasing historical figures who played pivotal roles in India’s independence movement. The Guest of Honour, Rev. Sister Arul Mary, then addressed the gathering, sharing her thoughts on the importance of the day.
The event concluded with a dynamic dance performance by Lahari and her team from St. Anne’s Degree College, and a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by a representative from St. Anne’s Public School, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to making the celebration memorable.
This Independence Day, the St. Anne’s community reaffirmed its commitment to the values of freedom, unity, and patriotism, honoring the legacy of those who fought for the nation’s independence.
