St. Anne’s PU College witnessed an engaging and entertaining presentation of Shakespearean One-Act Plays on 16 September 2026. The event provided the students with a wonderful opportunity to explore the timeless works of William Shakespeare and bring his famous characters and stories to life on stage.
The performances were judged by Ms. Saritha Bai from MLA College for Girls and Ms. Lydia from St. Anne’s First Grade College. The judges assessed the students on their acting, dialogue delivery, expressions, stage presence, coordination and overall presentation.The students of II PU presented a variety of Shakespeare’s celebrated plays. II EBAB presented Macbeth, II PCMB A presented Romeo and Juliet, II HEBA presented Othello, and II PCMB B presented Julius Caesar. II PCMC performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream, while II ESBA and II HEPS presented Twelfth Night. II BASC presented Much Ado About Nothing.
Each performance had its own unique charm and energy. The students displayed confidence and enthusiasm as they stepped into the roles of Shakespeare’s memorable characters. Their expressive dialogues, lively gestures, emotional expressions and impressive stage presence brought the plays alive. The dramatic moments, humour, suspense and emotional scenes kept the audience engaged and made the programme truly entertaining to watch.
The competition concluded with the announcement of the winners. II ESBA secured First Place, II PCMC won Second Place, and II PCMB B secured Third Place. II BASC received the Consolation Prize.
The event was a wonderful blend of literature, creativity and performance. It gave students a platform to showcase their talents while developing confidence, teamwork and communication skills. The captivating performances and enthusiastic participation made the Shakespearean One-Act Plays a memorable and enjoyable event for everyone.
